First and foremost they are a great deal and makes them realistic for feeding certain picky types of fish who really demand worms, like spiny eels. I have a tiretrack eel which I bought as a tiny little thing and which was hard to feed - until I got this stuff. Since then he's (or she's) exploded into a big, fat, tame, voracious non-baby! Only problem is there are a few other fish that love the worms too - a Green Chromide and a band of clown loaches. To feed these, I've found the following to work well: I use the top part only of a Lee's worm feeder (so minus the cone insert). This creates a plastic ring at the water surface level into which I drop the dried worms and which your worm-feeding fish will soon come to expect as their "feeding trough." Otherwise, the worms will be scattered and begin to float around in the water. As advice from an experienced aquarist, a HUGE advantage of these freeze-dried worms over live worms is that there seems to be almost no chance of disease. Obviously, live worms have LOTS of potential for this. Fish love live worms, but you may suddenly have a terrible disease problem in your tank. Watch out!
