Our Root Wad Kit is a great choice whether you want to provide a fish sanctuary for your backyard pond or lake, attract and protect fry and forage, or use the baitfish to create an ambush spot for angler sport fishing! Rough textured V-shaped limbs promote sediment and plant growth to attract the fish while the condensed and flexible limb pattern replicates the look and feel of natural cover to keep them there.
This product also works great for your Koi Pond providing safety from predators i.e. herons, raccoons, cats, etc. The escape holes in the trunks, along with the intersecting limbs, provide extra cover to help fry avoid being eaten by larger fish. The shadow cast by the limbs help deter predators like birds. The V-shaped limbs catch food, acting as a feeding trough. The top of the trunks provide a place to anchor aquatic plants. Ideal for shorelines or shallow water areas between 3 to 5 ft. and is incredibly easy to assemble. The trunks come in one piece with deep cutouts so all you have to do is insert the limbs to your desired length. After inserting the trunks into the base and adding the shade top for shade for your fish, you will be ready to deploy. Wade into the water or slide off a boat and your habitat will sink to the bottom. For weighting, add a concrete block or bag of concrete (not included) to the base.
