We bought this for vacation but now use it all the time. It has made life easier. The only comment is the wheel for how much fish food should be distributed is super sensitive for pellets. It was either too much or too little. It took some tinkering but we now have it at the perfect spot.The chute/door and clock mechanisms works well enough even keeping heavy rain water out of the drum. The problem is for my medium sized outdoor pond, the drum wasn't large enough to rely upon for a whole week. I suspect the food was gone within three days.So at first, I followed the directions that are supplied and it wouldn't feed at the times I selected. So I looked up a video and watched it and once you realize there are a few more steps to get it going it actually works great. I set up 2 feeding times for the day. one at 6 am and one at 6 pm. The best way to calibrate this for the amount of food to be released is to do several dry runs over a paper towel or plate. Move the slider to halfway and push the feed now button. See how much food falls out and adjust from there. All food is different (flakes, crisps, pellets, etc.) so adjust it to your food and the amount you want. Hok it on the back of your tank and let it go. It is battery operated and will need to supply the batteries but that being said you will check that it's actually working from time to time and the batteries aren't dead and not feeding your fish. The one I watched is called Review and Instruction for Resun AF-2009D Automatic Fish Feeder for Aquarium. Its the same as this one.I have a beta that is kept at my job. I got this for the weekends so he could be fed when we are off for the weekend. But I had to return because this is not meant for a small tank. It Dispersed way to much food out and just made a mess in the tank. If you have a large tank this would work well for it.I have settings every 12 hours and worked on time Noticed that on same setting the portions were not consistent Handy for few days but would consider check on it when feeding in progressNot the best but its working it will stop working after while i had bought this before tooEverything seems to work fine. The setup is very easy and straight forward. The only problem I found was I installed the feeder around 6 pm the next morning around 8 am I checked the feeder and all of the food was soaked and stuck in the dispenser. I'm sure it isn't a problem with the feeder but it's the way my tank is setup. I have a lid, light and pump on my tank. The only place that is open is a 4" slot on the backside. This is also the only place water can evaporate from, hence soaked food. This feeder would be perfect on an open top tank but can't be used for close top. Therefore I'll save it for a later day because it does work and is a great value.Bought this to use will we were on vacation. The directions were a little confusing but after futzing around with it for a while I figured out how to program it. Even though I only had it set the do one turn every 24 hours, I like that there are modes to allow to feed multiple times in a day and the ability to do 2 rotations. We watched it for a few days before we left, and it didn’t always disperse the same amount. This is the reason that I gave it 4 stars. Overall, a good product.Does what it’s supposed to do. But pours little extra food for small size fish tank. But can easily manageable if you stick the cello tape on the opening to reduce the size off itI was disappointed to find the product small size from what the picture shows.Hard to use.Great and arrived on timeWorks well.
