I have a betta and three ghost shrimp in a newly set up planted fluval edge tank. I bought this item to give the betta a place in the upper part of the tank just while the real plants established and grew upwards. The suction cup sticks great to the glass and the leaf stays put. No ill effects to the water quality. The betta liked it a lot while the tank plants were small but now he does gravitate towards the more established natural plants. I was going to pull the leaf, as I had intended it to be temporary, but the ghost shrimp are on it ALL the time. I have two pregnant ghost shrimp and they push off the male shrimp and take turns on the leaf. They also use it as a "diving board leaf" to go after the left-over betta food. Fun to watch. Since the ghost shrimp can be hard to spot for my friend's kiddos love that they can find them easily on the "diving board leaf!" You never know what will be a hit for kids and aquatics! To be clear the leaf is submerged in the water about two inches below the water line, so no actual diving from the above surface occurs but it kind of looks like diving to a three year old or an adult with a good imagination!Incidentally for first time betta owners, your fish may not like to rest on the hammock but most bettas like to have some cover in their environment. They may just hover below it to rest, which is making them happy too! So please consider have fake or preferable real plants for the tank. Just watch out for sharp edges, which can catch and cut the fins. This product is great in that respect and I highly recommended it. If your fish ignores it, try relocating in the tank. I would recommend having the leaf a distance away from any filter currents if you have a filter in the tank. Betta's aren't great swimmers so they won't enjoy hanging out in a current, nor do ghost shrimp for that matter. Also while I have ghost shrimp in my tank with a betta, it is only because my betta is very chill and not very territorial. Milage definitely varies with tank-mates and bettas. Many bettas I have kept in the best would only tolerate a mystery snail. You can choose a more "friendly" betta by placing it next to other bettas in the fish store and watching how much they flare or ignore the other bettas. Also follow the rule of at least one gallon for each inch of fish for a low stress tank. Hope this helps!This leaf hammock is tiny compared to another brand I usually purchase. This one looked to be a better quality but I was wrong. The suction is great but the leaf won't stay in the hole. Half the time when I go to feed the fish the leaf is on the bottom of the tank. It is too small for my betta to rest on so I had to buy from the previous company I was buying from. Also it took forever for it to arrive.The leaf doesn’t stay in the suction cup. Any time my betta tries to sit on the leaf it falls out. I’ll have to get some silicone and see if I can fasten the leaf in the silicone so it’ll stay in place. I ordered two leaves and one works fine but the other one keeps falling out. The leaf is easy to pose. In the week that I’ve had my two hammocks in both of my tanks I’ve only seen one of them try and use it and that was the one that kept breaking.This is such a cute little product. At first I had a hard time believing the Betta would lay and rest on this leaf but other reviews convinced me to give it a try. When I got it I put it in my little aquarium 2 inches from the top of the water. I watched for a while to see if my fish would use it right away. Just like a watched pot he did nothing. I left to go to class, and when I came back there he was laying in the beta hammock. It was so cute and definitely improved the quality of life for my Betta. The reason I give it four stars is after a week or so I noticed some build up around the suction cup. I am not sure what it was, but after I cleaned it off and another week went by the build up was back. I was not sure if it was harmful to the fish so i clean it very often. This is a hassle but i do still enjoy this product.The product itself is exactly as described, but my beta doesn’t fit very well on it. To be fair, I have an enormous beta fish but I didn’t consider that he might be too big, so keep in mind to look at the measurements and decide whether or not yours will fit!What can I say my Betta fish loves to hang out and take a nap on it. After a busy afternoon of frolicking about his tank it's great to have a spot to chill and relax.It’s cute when you can get the cup to stay on the tank. I kind of have to play with it for a little bit and make sure the glass and cup are dry to get it to stick then gently adjust it where I want it. Overall the beta likes it. It’s his favorite hangout spot.The suction is good but the leaf sometimes falls off so you may have to push it back inside a few times. Besides that I often find my betta resting and/or sleeping on it.Excelente producto ! Mis bettas duermen ahí les encanto
